The ‘Anna Weber-van Bosse’ is the flagship of the Dutch scientific fleet: 79.97 metres long, built by Astilleros Armón Vigo for the NIOZ (Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research), designed to operate from the tropics to the edge of the Arctic and Antarctic ice.
Its name is no coincidence. Anna Weber-van Bosse was the first Dutch marine biologist to conduct research at sea in the late 19th century. Today, the most advanced vessel in the Dutch research fleet bears her name.
This Thursday, we will attend its christening in the port of Texel.
Sedni integrates its Diamar® automation system on board for the monitoring and control of systems: Propulsion to achieve the ELECTRIC HYBRID (PM, PB) notation, engine room equipment and systems, and control of auxiliary systems. An architecture to comply with the ✠ AUT-UMS notation for a vessel also prepared for hybrid operation with methanol and batteries.
